Yujiro Hanma announced for Tekken 8 Season 3
Tekken 8 revealed Yujiro Hanma from the manga Grappler Baki as Season 3's final DLC character at Combo Breaker. The character is slated to join the roster in early 2027, concluding Season 3's planned fighter releases. Yujiro is a notorious, physically dominant Baki antagonist whose crossover brings a high-profile manga presence to Tekken 8 and reshapes the roster with a brutal, larger-than-life fighter.
Tekken 8 is shaping up to be the greate- YUJIRO HANM<A????
cant focus on apple fritter guy rn they put my GOAT bob back in the roster
"Akuma 2 has joined the roster" actually i wouldnt not at all be surprised if this dude is Akuma's entire inspiration. some quick research shows me that Yujiro's debut chapter was a couple of years before SF2 Turbo was released. and Capcom has a history of noted design inspirations.
Already seeing some Discourse about Yujiro Hanma in Tekken due to him being an enormous piece of shit in Baki but like This is Tekken, y’all, the cast consists of assholes, sociopaths, and naive idiots, many of whom are complicit in war crimes
I'm a Jin main, I had to deal with like an eight-year-period of My Good Karate Boy being a warmongering fascist, with every online victory furthering his agenda some people just aren't built for fighting games
Heihachi exists directly because Yujiro exists, what are we on about? People just don't like Baki but hate feeling dismissed when people just say "ok, don't buy the DLC" so now they're grasping for a JUSTIFICATION.
Yah if there's one franchise he can guest in, it's that one.
I mean the conceit of him is he's the kind of asshole you can only be if you *know* you're stronger than everyone else. So he'll fit in just fine.
Have they not played Tekken before? I hate to ask the question but...yknow
Soul Calibur IV has a guest character that was a fascist child murderer who was also complicit in genocide.
honestly my main opinion is they gotta Really sell his expressions in his animations, dude makes some wild faces, not to mention I'd be surprised if they actually try to accurately adapt his grotesque muscularity
If anything them having villains as their main type of guest character. Is legitimately charming to the point where I genuinely think they should lean into it. Like make one of the taglines for the DLC be "unlock the newest evil" or something
