Alec Segaert of Bahrain Victorious won Stage 12 of the Giro d'Italia in Novi Ligure with a late solo attack. The 175-kilometre stage from Imperia ended after Segaert launched his decisive move with about four kilometres remaining and held off a reduced group to the line. Toon Aerts finished second as Segaert claimed his first Grand Tour stage victory. The win underscores Segaert's emergence as a finisseur WHO can turn spring breakaways into major victories and gives Bahrain Victorious a signature result at this Giro.
