Tesla Cybertruck 'Wade Mode' Test Ends With Arrest
A driver was arrested in Grapevine, Texas, after driving a Tesla Cybertruck into Grapevine Lake to test the vehicle's "Wade Mode." Grapevine police and the Grapevine Fire Department Water Rescue Team say the Cybertruck became disabled, took on water, and occupants abandoned it before crews removed the stainless steel pickup from the lake. Tesla markets Wade Mode as allowing a Cybertruck to enter and drive through bodies of water such as rivers and creeks, but authorities say crossing Grapevine Lake requires boat registration and an actual boat. The incident shows that using water-driving features can lead to equipment failure, safety risks, and legal consequences.
A man drove his Cybertruck into a lake to test ‘wade mode” but he started to sink. The police arrest him and charge in with not having a boating license and other maritime safety laws plus operating a vehicle in a closed section of a park. Should also arrest him for owning a Cybertruck. 😆😆😆
Of course this goober's name is Jimmy Jack. It's as if he were destined to stumble along to this moment in life.
I agree... owning a Cybertruck should be a crime. You wouldn't see a dumpster driving down the road... oh wait, you do... it's called a Cybertruck. 🤣
I would expect anyone who would purchase that piece of crap to be a major dumb ass. So this matches my expectations.
Charge him with illegal dumping of trash and polluting a waterway.
“Jimmy Jack” tracks. Jimmy Jacks definitely always have ideas like this. They were the kids jumping off their roofs with homemade wings of paper taped together. Maybe that’s giving too much credit to Jimmy Jacks for innovation…Jimmy Jacks were the kids jumping off their roofs onto a pile of pillows.
Texas. This was in Texas. They had to climb out the windows. Nice touch charging them with boating w/o PFDs. (The other 2 headlines right afterwards are “Man burst into flames at CA shopping center” & AZ executes man who set victim on fire”. Suppose they’re same story, set safely out of state?)
Well, as a cybertruck owner, I'm sure he knows whether to choose electrocution or the shark.
Charge him with criminal stupidity.
New Law: Anyone who wants to drive a cybertruck should immediately have their drivers license revoked
He bought a. Cyber truck so you know he is cards short of a full deck
Cybertruck Owner Drives Car Into Lake to Test ‘Wade Mode’, Gets Arrested gizmodo.com/cybertruck-o...
I saw on Yahoo this afternoon that among the charges the guy was arrested for included no boat registration. Safety violations( likely, no life jackets!) ……….
He purchased a Cybertruck. That may be all the proof he needs to be declared not competent to stand trial.
well yeah it's illegal to throw trash in lakes
Simple misunderstanding. That mode is for drivers named “Wade.”
Second most stupid thing. Buying one seems to be number one 😉
At least it will not burst into flames.
Again proving that Cybertruck owners have more money than sense. It's amazing any of these morns have made it to adulthood without natural selection taking them out.
He's fucked because he voided Tesla's warranty by driving into water deeper than the top of the tire (max depth for 'wade mode') so neither Tesla nor his insurance is going to pony up a dime. He's going to get billed $$$ for a crane and a rollback tow. And he got arrested. This all makes me 😀
I love how some people test the limits of their vehicles, but getting arrested isn't exactly the best way to prove a point.
He just realized it was a piece of shit and wanted the insurance money would be my guess.
There's no cure for stupid
- buys a wankpanzer - drives into lake to test ‘wade mode’ - in fact, actually conducts test for ‘moron mode’ AKA - tesla twit mode final test grade = F “Cybertruck Owner Drives Car Into Lake to Test ‘Wade Mode’, Gets Arrested”
Stupid idiot. And really the worst taste in vehicles.
Hahahaha! I swear you just can’t make this shit up. Driver intentionally drove Cybertruck into lake to use vehicle’s ‘Wade Mode,’ police say www.ctvnews.ca/business/aut...
They ticketed him for "boating without a license" I absolutely lost it from that.
this would be a shockingly stupid if it weren’t for the fact they had already bought a cyber truck
Should have gone with the Lotus
I love that the dude's name was "Jimmy Jack." That is just so on brand it's surreal.
I'd not sure I'd trust one of these things on a road. Trying one in a lake just seems foolhardy.
