Montreal Victoire win Walter Cup, first Canadian PWHL champions
Montreal Victoire beat the Ottawa Charge 4-0 in Game 4 in Ottawa to clinch the Walter Cup, becoming the first Canadian PWHL champions. Abby Roque scored twice, including a deflected centering pass that beat Ottawa goalie Gwyn Philips for the clinching goal. Ann-Renée Desbiens made 23 saves in the shutout, and the victory hands the Walter Cup to a Canadian club for the first time, a major milestone for professional women's hockey in Canada.
