Yáng Shuāng‑zi's Taiwan Travelogue, translated by Lin King, won the 2026 International Booker Prize. Judges described the novel as a bittersweet story of love between two women and a love letter to food and adventure that probes language, history and power. The win makes Taiwan Travelogue the first book originally written in Mandarin to receive the International Booker. The award highlights the central role of translation in bringing Taiwanese literature to English readers and broadens the prize's recognition of Mandarin-language writing.
