Alex Palou grabbed the pole for the 2026 Indianapolis 500 by topping the Firestone Fast Six with a four-lap average of 232.248 mph. He pilots the No. 10 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda and had only qualified 11th in the earlier 33-car all-in session, making the pole a surprise. Palou edged Alexander Rossi's earlier 231.990 mph run by 0.258 mph to claim the top starting spot. Starting from pole gives Palou front-row track position for next Sunday's race and makes him a favorite to control the opening laps at Indianapolis.
