Scott Hastings, a man of integrity, honesty and empathy. A player who never gave below his maximum. There is nothing more you can ask as a legacy. RIP

Your words at half time of the Roses game were very heartfelt and touching - especially as you can’t have had much time to prep and it being your final commentary too.

As someone of an age who witnessed the 1990 grand slam, he was such a key player. Always gave his all. My generation will not forget him. A legend of the game in Scotland.

Brian Moore - you had plenty to say about the Scottish team in the glory days of your rivalry when you and Scott were at your rugby playing peak, but the most generous and eloquent words at poignant hour. True sportsmanship and humanity at its finest. I salute you, sir. Thank you.

Very 😔 indeed. Awful news. And on the day of his late beloved wife's birthday.

Brian, thank you so much for that amzing tribute. Tonight I am filled with sadness, but also with huge respect both for you and for Scott. Thoughts and prayers , of course with his children family and loved ones left behind. So sad they lost Jennie with depression - that most horrible disease.

That's very sad. Great player and great man.

Your tribute during the match which must have been difficult with no preparation was lovely and heartfelt. Able to describe so eloquently what a giant of a man Scott was

Totally agree. Partisanship ends after the game and camaraderie begins. A brilliant player and a great ambassador for the sport. RIP Scott Hastings.
