Pope Leo XIV approved an interdicasterial commission to study artificial intelligence, signing a rescript issued by Cardinal Michael Czerny, prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. The commission will assess AI's effects on human dignity, ethical principles, and the Church's pastoral response. The Vatican says the commission will prepare coordinated teaching and practical guidance as AI reshapes social and moral decisions for Catholics worldwide.
