Chancellor Merz says he would not advise his children to move to the US
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz told schoolchildren in Würzburg he would not recommend his children move to the United States, saying "I wouldn't recommend that my children go to the USA today" because "a certain social climate has suddenly developed there." He added "I am a big admirer of the US. But my admiration is currently not growing" during the session. The remarks come as transatlantic tensions rise after the United States announced a partial troop withdrawal from Germany and proposed higher tariffs on EU cars. The comments matter because they signal elite unease about American social and policy trends and could cool student exchanges and bilateral cooperation.
".. At a meeting with school children earlier this month, Merz said Iran had 'humiliated' the US." @financialtimes.com www.ft.com/content/123f...
I'm sure it was a reference to Biden's administration 🤷🏻
We humiliated ourselves long before Iran, thank you very much.
The US has 'humiliated' the US.
It has. We have not gotten one single concession from Iran. None of the idiot so called US president’s goals have made it through the always shifting goal posts. But, people aren’t talking about Epstein and how trump raped a 13 year old as much, so that goal has been accomplished.
Mostly the US President, however yes, the entirety of the US is & has been humilated globally for perhaps the recent 16-18 months. What an embarrassed citizenry WE have become. Sad, very very sad. God & the world help us
We don't wanna be here either
