Beijing rolls out red carpet for President Trump on China visit
China understands Trump better than Washington does. Give him the red carpet, the fanfare, the strongman treatment, and suddenly “America First” turns into deal-making season. China has several cards to play.
From soybeans to semiconductor chips to leverage with the Iranians, there are minefields everywhere for Trump.
But xi wasn't there to greet him. That seems like a huge snub.
Trump creates problems and never really solves them. #ETTD
Russia understands the Trump family the most.
I can't get over how unfunny Greg Gutfield is.
China has all the cards to play.
Flattery will get you everything with Trump.
As always, @jessicatarlov.bsky.social nails it! My fear is, Xi offers something like hotels or Trump properties after his term expires. We won’t know what he gives up for those personal gains until years down the road and my guess is it’s not a good deal for America, its whatever is good for him.
So what is the deal? Taiwan controls the semiconductor market, China buys oil from Iran but is using more green energy than the U.S., China would not allow them to build a Trump Tower in China. I mean, what could that bunch inc. Musk, have to offer? No Teslas when China makes BYD vehicles.
China knows that Trump craves flattery and adulation. It's pressing all the right buttons as a prelude to a game of chess at which Trump is poorly prepared.
This is literally so embarrassing. I’d melt being pandered to like that.
How can we tell Jessica is telling the truth.. the little guy keeps interrupting her
Give him the treatment he gives Putin. It’s pretty a to b.
