King's Speech set for May 13, briefings say Welfare Bill excluded
Today: I’m waiting to see what happens at the Cabinet meeting. Tomorrow: I’m waiting to see what the Kings speech delivers. Thursday: I’m expecting a Cabinet reshuffle . Friday: And breathe.
I really hope so, there's a definite fight back happening, I cannot believe what's happening. The media hate Labour and Starmer, Labour MP's need to fight back, stand up for their policies, back their leader and stop letting billionaire media barons like Murdoch and Rothermere rule the roost.
I'm just going to wait and see what happens. It's a mess.
I hope Starmer kicks Shabana Mahmood and Wes Streeting to the kerb. Their right wing tendencies are like a drag anchor on Labour's progress and their blatant aspirations for the top job are ugly and unhelpful.
Please may you be right. I’m the same. Nobody seems to be taking voters into account. I think a coup now will cause many to lose faith in voting. This is what the far right hope. Nobody mentions the affect this has on the war in Ukraine or how another leader (Labour?) might join the US/Iran war.
I hope you're right. The malcontents are doing farage's job for him
I pray he weathers this storm
Sadly for those of us who think Starmer is doing a decent job, our voices don't generate excitement or controversy or sensationalism So the media focuses on those who will fuel a story And there will never be a leader who satisfies everyone So the carousel will continue to spin faster
I think he's got to go now. Not because he deserves to go but because he can't stay. The government will now be consumed by this and nothing will get done. This is not going to go away - the media have got another scalp I'm afraid.
If only we saw these huge crowds of "journalists" following Farage to demand he explain the £5000000.
He needs to get seriously tough instead of trying to placate everyone. He could start by telling the dissenters that if they don’t stop undermining him, he will call an Election. He also needs a tough, no nonsense, Press Secretary
If nobody moves tonight, Starmer gets some respite tomorrow during King's Speech. Unlikely there'd be further resignations for fear of overshadowing or insulting the monarch on such a major day. If nobody moves this eve, they are banking on restarting momentum tomorrow afternoon.
Pretty sure you and your ilk will bang on about it for at least as long as the beergate non story.
Is a journalist job to report the news or to create it?
Those seeking to oust Starmer either need to put forward a candidate or shut up and get on with their fuckin' jobs. They are paid nearly £100k a year to make our lives better, not turn the country into a soap opera.
Are any of your colleagues covering the allegations made against Farage and Johnson by Ben Habib? If true, seems like a story worth proper investigation?
I'm sick to the back teeth of this.
