Mortal Kombat II was so fun but it completely obliviated the need for the first movie.

Went and saw Mortal Kombat II That sure is a movie You'd think given the sheer number of attempts at parallel storytelling in it, they'd have succeeded even a single time. But. Nope. They seem to have a purely aesthetic understanding of filmic language? Really remarkable in how blinkered it is.

I remember when the OG MORTAL KOMBAT came out, I was dating this guy & we decided to hit up the movies that weekend with another couple. He refused MK for DESPERADO (which I loved so all good), but I remember going the next day to see MORTAL KOMBAT alone because there was no way I was missing it lol

Went and saw Mortal Kombat II alone for my birthday, no Dad mode at the movies for once. The movie was great, and Karl Urban is literally a PERFECT Johnny Cage. Truly and genuinely perfect, especially for a look at the character in 2026. He and [REDACTED] steal the show, especially together.

Review: Mortal Kombat II isn’t a good movie. The pacing is strange, the acting is wooden and the stakes are baffling at best. Kano and Barakka are fun. If you ARE going to see it, the best way to do so is with 20 people from your martial arts school, who are AGGRESSIVELY flasking it.

Looking forward to watching Mortal Kombat II (the movie) tonight! Of the "klassic" games, OBVIOUSLY aside from Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Mortal Kombat II is the best one. Outworld is more bright, colourful, varied, and fantastical than the Earth(realm) settings of the first and third games.

Mortal Kombat II is bloody fun popcorn movie. Lots of campiness and cliches served in a delightfully entertaining way.

Mortal Kombat II (2026) Did not suck. They learned from the last one. Just a very predictable and somewhat corny, but it’s Mortal Kombat so corny is a little expected. It stands with Mortal Kombat (1996) & the animated WB movies as a good MK movie. It earned the 4/5 I’m giving it & is on the shelf.

Just watched Mortal Kombat II. Despite some issues I had with the dialogue and ending, movie was a bunch of fun with the characters and action sequences. MK fans will definitely have fun with this likely more than the 2021 movie. 7.5/10 for me 🩸🐉

Mortal Kombat II is liquid fanservice. Go see it if you're still deep in the game lore. It's also nice that they solved the main character problem (who is the protagonist if you don't wanna repeat Liu Kang's arc from the 1995 movie?) by basically making Kitana the main character.
