The Guardian: Trump administration arrested parents of at least 27,000 children
The Guardian analyzed ICE government records and found U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested the parents of at least 27,000 children between January and August 2025. ICE’s records show those arrests often left children separated from caregivers while authorities processed custody, placement, or removal decisions. Advocates compare the pattern to the 2018 family-separation crisis and warn the scale will inflict long-term psychological and social harm on affected children. Because the count comes from official records, the enforcement shift has become a likely focus for legal challenges and congressional oversight.
A win! A federal appeals court ruled unanimously that the Trump administration must continue allowing lawmakers to inspect immigration detention facilities without advance notice, finding that the impromptu visits posed minimal problems for the government.
In WA, these detention centers are privately owned. It's the private contractors that are refusing entry. Wonder if this ruling will change that.
Good. We know this administration obeys the law
Isn't this the 3rd time it's been ruled this way?
Yay! In this day and age, a clear (and all too rare) win for common sense is cause for celebration!! 🤙
The US government has targeted thousands of parents for deportation since Donald Trump took office in January 2025. A Guardian analysis of government records has found that, during the first seven months of his presidency, the administration arrested the parents of at least 27,000 children. 🧵
Analysis of records obtained via a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit show the vast scope of a new family separation crisis created by the US government, human rights advocates said, a crisis that has far surpassed in scale the “zero tolerance” policy of the first Trump administration.
Thank you for this information. May Xrump in he!!.
Where did all these children go? Into the murky underworld of sex trafficking?
How else are they going to traffic all those kids?
Outrageous DHS Misconduct DHS ordered a DOJ prosecutor to withhold Murder Warrant information material to the case, then slandered the RI Judge for releasing a Murderer. Federal Judges appointed a special counsel to investigate misconduct by US Attorney Kevin Bolan www.nytimes.com/2026/05/07/u...
Homeland Security advised Mr. Bolan to withheld information from Judge Melissa R. DuBose that a detainee, an undocumented immigrant living in Massachusetts, was wanted for homicide in the Dominican Republic. This led Judge DuBose to order Bryan Rafael Gomez be released on bond.
Seems like they were setting the judge up for failure.
This will get shut down. I’m sure of it
As it presses for more denaturalizations, the Trump administration has asked courts to revoke the citizenship of a dozen Americans it accuses of crimes or actions that qualify them to lose their U.S. citizenship.
As long as you pledge allegiance to Trump you can keep your US citizenship. WTF is wrong with these Republicans. Don’t they see what he’s doing to discredit this country. Melania came in on an H1B visa a/k/a Einstein visa and she doesn’t even have a college degree. Did she commit fraud?
Surely even @nytimes.com knows the difference between accusations by a fascist regime and an actual conviction in a court of law, right?
What about lying on application bout being an architect? 🤔
This feels like facism, because it is.
This feels like one of those issues that will be heavily debated in law and politics.
If any should have their Americian citizenship revoked, it's traitor Trump.
Just a trial run. If Trump is successful, who’s next?

How about Elon Musk? When does he get denaturalized?
