Paris prosecutors open criminal probe into Elon Musk over X content
Paris prosecutors opened a criminal probe into Elon Musk and X over distribution of child sexual imagery on the platform. Investigators summoned Musk and ex-CEO Linda Yaccarino and are seeking preliminary charges that can be pursued even if the executives do not appear. The inquiry targets whether X's content moderation and policies allowed illegal images to circulate, exposing the company and its leaders to criminal liability under French law. A prosecution could lead to fines, operational restrictions in France, and set a precedent for holding tech executives personally accountable for platform content.
Update on DOGE: A federal judge just delivered a devastating ruling against DOGE, finding that Elon Musk’s operation “blatantly used” race, gender, and other protected characteristics to carry out the largest mass termination
of federal grants in the history of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Over 1,400 grants representing more than $100 million in congressionally appropriated funds were wiped out.
He and all those moronic kids that did the actual work should be forced to pay for the damage done. Take 90% of his wealth and 30% of gross income for the rest of their lives from the 20 something asshats that he used.
. DOGE was the biggest heist of all time . . . ... right before everyone's eyes. 💠 😠 💠
too late, the damage is done. Will there be any repercussion against musk? Probably not why not send him to Mars all alone in his own rocket. Don’t his aircraft have a history of blowing up.
"DOGE had no legal authority" to make these decisions. 👏👏👏 Finally. Now to prosecute these punks and their (Musky) ring leader
Well, oddly enough, it’s much easier to set fire to a house than to build one. And that’s basically all the Trump admin has done, with everything.
This is good, but where are we with the rest of the DOGE annihilations? Or the mass firings by Bondi and Patel? Or the obliteration of the Dept. Of Education? ALL of these actions were done on the basis that the president can do whatever he wants without consulting Congress.
That’s the kind of lighting quick response we need to keep the barn safe now that the horses are gone
Way past time to prosecute MuskRat.
So did the judge order a reinstatement of those positions, effectively immediately, and require those people who were targeted by these discriminatory policies receive some form of compensation for the harassment, embarrassment, and the difficulties they may have faced finding another position?
I don't understand why the very existence of DOGE hasn't been ruled illegal. Presidents do not have the authority to repurpose agencies which have been established and defined through legislation. Particularly legislation which does not grant ANY authority to the president to change.
Musk and all doge should be sued by the American people and be forced to pay billions as restitution to all grant recipients cancelled
Are they doing anything actionable with this ruling?
Here's the opinion & order - all 143 pages of it storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
Great. But this regime ignores judges' rulings. There must be consequences significant enough to have an impact and at least slow them down if not stop them.
Great ruling, but it’s only putting an official judicial stamp on what we already knew they were doing. The damage has been done.
Almost surely will be overturned by SCROTUS (the R is for Racism)
This is affirming, but will there be any real world consequence because of it?
Take all him money to make things right....and lock him (all of them) up.... Trump needs related consequences as well..
So what? The damage is done and no one will be held accountable. We know that NOTHING happens to the white privileged class of oligarchs. And court ruling don’t seem to mean shit anymore, no consequences if they aren’t followed.
Honestly, with the way things have been going, even reading the final ruling, I have no faith that anything will happen. Law doesn't seem to apply to the White House these days.
ABC News: Elon Musk’s DOGE “blatantly used” race, gender and other protected characteristics to execute the largest mass termination of federal grants in the history of the National Endowment for the Humanities, a federal judge ruled on Thursday. abcnews.com/Politics/jud...
An apartheid guy (an illegal immigrant, no less — by virtue of his fraudulent entry!) employing racist tactics, with the full backing of a federal government run by a bunch of racist criminals. Whoda thought. 🥴 We mustn’t tolerate it.
The individuals need to go to jail
This motherfucker needs to be charged, convicted, and imprisoned.
SCOTUS says there's no such thing as racism, unless white people are aggrieved.
Mussolini met the proper fate. Need more of that energy!
No shit. We saw them deleting grants using keyword searches like "women." Fucking breast cancer research cancelled bc these fuckers are misogynistic and stupid unemployable assholes.
News flash: those of us who lost funding and jobs because our grants were for on research related to a protected class could have told ABC News that. Months ago, no less.
What is going to be done about it!!! Some much damage has been done and no one has paid the price for it!!
We could see that a year ago
During jury selection, so many people filled out the questionnaire with a variation of, "It is my heartfelt belief that Elon Musk is a piece of shit," that the judge had to be like, "ok well just stipulate that nobody likes him but we trust them to be fair anyway" www.theverge.com/tech/919469/...
I hope they both lose :)
heh, right? like it's not feasible to find jurors who DON'T think Elon is a peice of shit. love it. also the "its not in my neurons" bit had me SO weak haha... wow y'all are so gone. glad these clearly sane and rational folks are running upwards of 10% of the global economy... what could go wrong?
HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA This is like the Martin Shrekli trial where one of the jurors was like "he looks like a penis."
