Nick Robinson criticised for aggressive Radio 4 interview
BBC presenter Nick Robinson was criticised after an abrasive Radio 4 Today interview in which he repeatedly interrupted and pressed Green candidate Zack Polanski. Robinson challenged Polanski about running a national campaign in local council elections and probed an antisemitic cartoon published about him, with some listeners calling the exchange a "prolonged attack." The episode prompted complaints to the BBC and highlights concerns about interviewer tone and impartiality during high-profile local election coverage.
#r4Today When Justin Webb interviewed Farage, it was 90% about national/international ideas. Nick Robinson restricts Zack to local issues and antisemitism. Endless personal criticism, speeches and opinions from him.
Oh and then he goes on to ask him if he'd make a good prime minister. Honestly Nick Robinson is a narcissistic disingenuous prick.
It really was awful, even for nick Robinson. Cut into nearly every answer, didn't attempt to hide his own contempt, restricting polanski to local issues despite both guests and presenters always saying council elections are a bellwether for UK elections. Shit journalism - he needs to go to GB news.
The BBC has acted as a fluffer for reform for years now
Almost as if -- now, correct me if I'm wrong -- that Nick Robinson could be -- just possibly -- a bit of a Total Cunt
I didn't hear the whole thing, at one point Polanski gave a measured response to a rambling question about the police, Robinson responded with a snidey, patronising comment, then as soon as Polanski started to respond to that he immediately moved on. Woeful interviewing at best.
The Toady Programme is an audio version of the Daily Mail.
Yeah but Webb is a twat to be fair
Robinson's the main reason I stopped listening. Webb not far behind. I was unfortunate enough to catch Anna Foster 'interviewing' the Welsh Green leader the other day. It sounds like she's been 'got at' too. He could barely get two words in before she went off on a tirade. 💩 'journalism'
It's almost as if the Head of News at the BBC used to do the same job at GB News otherwise known as Reform's house TV station.
Turn it off. If nobody listens he will get the tin tack.
On Today, Polanski told Nick Robinson the Golders Green “officers are incredibly brave”. But he went on: “I was traumatised to see someone handcuffed and repeatedly kicked in the head” - this isn’t right, the attacker wasn’t handcuffed, he was still holding a knife.
There are two pretty big clues in the video: 1) the officers are shouting “drop the knife!” and 2) after kicking him they pull his arms from under him, wide apart, then remove the knife.
I'm starting to suspect that Zack Polanski might be an habitual liar willing to say anything to get through the next five minutes.
I've checked what the police training is for dealing with someone who has a knife, because it will have changed since I went through the training in 1990. Back then it didn't involve kicking people in the head. It still doesn't.
Stabbing Jews: not traumatising Police using violence to prevent further deaths: traumatising.
