Pentagon official says a 'red, white and blue dome' secures Strait of Hormuz
Pentagon official Pete Hegseth announced the U.S. has established a 24/7 "red, white and blue" air-defense dome securing the Strait of Hormuz. Gen. Dan Caine said U.S. forces will provide overwatch for all peaceful vessels in the strait, excluding Iranian ships, as part of the operation. Hegseth and Caine described the deployment as temporary and said recent Iranian attacks remain below the threshold to restart a wider war.
