A Ukrainian kamikaze drone struck the Mosfilmovskaya residential tower in western Moscow early Monday, blowing out walls in an upper-floor apartment and scattering debris, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed. The strike hit the Dom na Mosfilmovskaya complex, which sits roughly 6 to 7 kilometers from the Kremlin. The attack came days before Russia’s May 9 Victory Day parade, and authorities have already scaled back the event. The incident demonstrates kamikaze drones can reach central Moscow and heightens security and safety concerns for the Kremlin’s showpiece festivities and nearby civilians.
