Scott Jennings substack piece accuses corporate media of double standards

cultureMay 1, 202681,859

Scott Jennings published a Substack essay titled "Scott Jennings Reveals The Bad Faith and Hypocritical Double Standards of Corporate Media," accusing corporate news outlets of bad faith and hypocrisy. Jennings says outlets favor certain political figures, apply uneven standards to conservatives, and "bend the knee" to preferred narratives. The essay frames mainstream coverage as rigged and urges readers to treat corporate reporting skeptically, reinforcing conservative critiques of media institutions.

For the love of God, it is time to fire Scott Jennings - my latest on Substack open.substack.com/pub/jimacost...

Why would CNN fire him? He’s literally the only reason we’re talking about CNN. No one is talking about what the panel was addressing, they’re talking about Jennings. CNN knows exactly what they’re doing. It’s time to ignore corporate whoring and trash.

Corey Stewart24

Fire him? He’s performing for David Ellison. Just like Dana Bash, Van Jones, etc…

Natalia A. Kerr19

He is one of the main reasons I stopped watching CNN.

Rebecca E ❌👑19

Scott Jennings is doing exactly what his lords and masters, Ellison and Weiss, are telling him to do. So, why would CNN fire Scott Jennings? In fact, why would any legitimate journalist still be on any MSM news station, especially @cbsnews.com.

needmoreram.bsky.social11

I suspect Jennings is doing exactly what CNN pays him to do.

They're not in the news business they're in the entertainment business we need to accept that and treat them as just an entertainment show that we don't need to watch

Gotte Jib⭕️⭕️6

e should be fired for being a spineless piece of shit with horrible opinions. He shouldn't be fired for saying fuck. He didn't threaten Mockler. He's threatened by Mockler. He's threatened by Mockler being an intelligent & mature 22 year old while Jennings is a man baby.

Craig R. Brittain6

The number one thing that needs to be said on TV that can't be said is that Donald Trump by murdering others, is "living by the sword" and so if anything happens to him or any of his supporters like Scott Jennings - they "lived by the sword" and asked for it.

D4rkh4wk3

Jennings is paid to be disliked. People will watch and talk about things they don’t like MORE than things they like. Jennings being a total asshat makes CNNs overlords money.

S.J. Newman3

Jennings serves as an example of the irrational pretzel Republicans must twist themselves into to justify their party’s immoral and undemocratic policies.

babinski543

There is only one side, The truth. Opinions are not facts. CNN has become a circus sideshow. Even the "respected" anchor's silence is ok with the vile fiction being spewed by Trump's sycophants.

Michael Buckle, Ph.D.3

Fire him from what exactly? This show and CNN have lost credibility and therefore is treated as entertainment. Like the WWE. Jennings is a heel and plays a good one.

lafurnald.bsky.social2

He’s a primary reason I won’t pay for the CNN app. Not interested in supporting his compensation.

Centrist Sisyphus2

How long ago was it when a contributor would be suspended or fired for saying the F word on TV? I miss those days. Not to mention that it’s just Reason 1,000 why Jennings should be let go.

AMPTsuper2

Watched the clip. Definitely had the vibe of, "teacher he's looking at me..." ...and it appears there was likely a ton of built up frustration hiding behind the faux condescending smile. Bet the savvy young man had been repeatedly winning the sound bite moments and he just couldn't hold it in.

scoopwood.bsky.social2

Yes! I turn off whatever he is on immediately.

Mrs Fanone🥄2

He is insufferable. He is the reason I won’t watch @cnn and cancelled my longtime subscription to @latimes

Phemmy92

With Ellison coming in, he'll be promoted to their boss.

Brian Spitler2

Scott Jennings will become the main CNN news host if the merger with Paramount is finalized. He's auditioning for it now, of course, so that trump will pull the strings with David Ellison.

𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝘀𝘁2

I wish #CNN NewsFight could mimic the format of the PBS series Ethics In America where real intellectuals debated serious hypothetical scenarios—rather than the kabuki theater of morally bankrupt trad-wives & lotharios, sadly these shows are merely apropos of rivalry with Instagram & TikTok videos.

Charles Thomas2

As long as CNN continues to pay Jennings, I'll continue to not watch their shows. He is nothing more than a political prostitute paid to service those shows. I have nothing against people with opposing views, but that guy is the poster child for those I absolutely despise. #FDT #FGOP #FICE

Anne 🫘2

I refuse to watch CNN because they platform Jennings. He's so obnoxious and so obviously a shill for his party position. No thought at all.

Langdon Grant2

There would probably be more public outrage and backlash over this if anyone still watched @cnn.com.

northsleuth.bsky.social2

@cnn.com will showcase Scott until after the Midterms. They are an Ad company first, and a News company 2nd, or maybe 3rd. IMO
