Trump says '86' is a mob term for 'kill him'

newsApr 30, 2026442,894

President Donald Trump told CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins that "86" is a mob term meaning "kill him," saying "86 47 means 'kill President Trump.'" Elie Honig, a former federal prosecutor who spent years prosecuting mob families, said he never once heard "86" used to mean killing. Historically, "86" has meant to eject or discard someone or something in restaurants and bars, not to order a killing, so Trump’s use of the term to attack James Comey lacks support from mob-prosecution experts and from common usage.

Trump: "'86' is a mob term for 'kill him.' They say 86 him! 86 47 means 'kill President Trump.''James Comey, who is a Dirty Cop, one of the worst, knows this full well! EIGHT MILES OUT, SIX FEET DOWN! Didn’t he also lie to the FBI about this??? I think so! President DJT"

Of course that’s what a mob boss would take it to mean…

So then is this shirt on Amazon saying to kill Joe Biden? Is the DOJ going to charge the producer and Amazon for hosting it?

He's confusing "deep six" with 86. 🤡

86 means you’re out of something in a restaurant. It’s not that deep, Gramps 🤷🏻‍♀️🙄

It is not a kill term, it's kicking someone out, like a bar or restaurant., from the 80s I believe, & orange menace knows it. Everybody knows it.

It makes sense that the origin story he believes is the one involving the mob in Las Vegas.

DJT is admitting how much time he spent with the Mob and the fact that he didn’t report anyone for giving kill orders when he was with them. That’s what we have here.

Dr. Tea, Cake, & Revolution.9

Trump, typically, is confusing ‘86’ and ‘deep six.’ The latter is a nautical term, which he acknowledges by mentioning depth.

Vindictive indictment much. He just can’t help himself. What an embarrassment.

A 1995 movie Casino features a scene of a gambler who famously lost $10 million during a high-stakes baccarat session at the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City in May 1990. Trump knows this and he is tying the mob to 86 because he never stops paddling while going over the cliff.

astraltraveler.bsky.social8

It's commonly used by bar bouncers. Kash and Scary should know what it means.

I see Trump considers himself an expert on gang symbolism. Remember his claims about Abrego Garcia’s knuckle tattoos?

Argle-Bargler5

That doesn't even make any sense. Where in the world is the ocean only 6 feet deep at 8 miles offshore? Such a stupid saying would have never taken off because the first person you tried to say it to would have said, "That's stupid," and you would have never repeated it again.

teamevozilla.bsky.social5

The orange felon must love this one ;-) "deep six" to stow something away in place where it will be impossible to find. the six refers to six fathoms (or 36 feet), the minimum legal depth for a burial at sea www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?t...

Google:"86"-slang term meaning to discard, cancel, remove, or refuse service, orig from 1930s restaurant/soda-counter jargon to indicate an item is sold out. It is widely used to eject rowdy customers, kill a menu item, or abandon plans. Synonyms include ban, reject, nix, discard, or throw out. 🙄

L5

No one needs to kill Donald Trump, he’s perfectly capable of doing that to himself. We just want him removed from office. 💁🏼‍♀️

chrsnlrn.bsky.social5

Eight miles out, the water’s a lot deeper than six feet.

Yes, Trump is too dumb and lazy to even google the term "86," but let's talk more about what a chickenshit he is for believing that a bunch of sea shells are an actual threat. He is such a pathetic weakling.

86 is for restaurant terms to kick out. If a person is being a problem at that restaurant. They obviously do not know what it means.

Steph K4

I actually thought it was a restaurant term meaning: SOLD OUT! I guess that works for him too. He's a big sellout!

cristyhbic.bsky.social4

Gareth Penn4

"Eight miles out, six feet down" is what is known as a folk etymology, a word origin for which there is no evidence and has been fabricated. While the origin of "86" is obscure, dictionary editors agree that the most likely explanation is that is rhyming slang for "nix."

Charlie Mas4

As usual, Donald Trump is spreading misinformation. It's what he does. He relies on the absence of any critical reasoning skills anywhere in his audience. Just for a moment, ask yourself why a body eight miles out to sea should be six feet down. Wouldn't the concrete shoes sink it to the bottom?

My Aim Is True4

He seems more upset by seashells than by the latest "assassination attempt." In fact, he's never seemed particularly upset by any of the "assassination attempts" against him.

This is Trump's distraction of choice from (partial list): (1) Epstein (2) ICE murders & kidnappings (3) Inflation, gas prices (4) Iran (which was a distraction from (1)) SEE IT FOR WHAT IT IS and GET OUT THE VOTE. This CRIMINAL MUST BE NEUTRALIZED. Then arrested, indicted, tried, IMPRISONED.

a) It's established "86" means "cancel/toss" and is diner/bar rhyming slang for "Nix" (as in "nix that order") b) TFG's "definition" is confabulation, a common feature of dementias and particularly frontotemporal dementia c) At this point TFG is less "sundowning" and more "in polar twilight" 1/2

In all his years in New York, rich people found Trump utterly insufferable. A dolt. They laughed at him. But mobsters really liked him. He fit in with them. Talked like them. Thought like them. Trump aspired to be like them and they aspired to have his mainstream "acceptance".

Of course '86' is not a mob term, but better yet, why would Trump be familiar with mob terms... is he a mob family? 🤫

Craig Lincoln3

Weird, according to this it originated in the hospitality industry, and is slang to mean something is no longer available, or someone is no longer welcome. Which, yeah... There's also a quote from Bill Clinton in here using it as slang for firing someone en.wikipedia.org/wiki/86_(term)

minatus.bsky.social3

I still believe they are confusing 187 with 86. So dumb, but fun fact add up the numbers and you get 25.

There goes Dementia Gramps, mixing up his metaphors again. He’s actually managed to confuse “86” with “6 feet under” AND “deep 6”, referring to sailors throwing something overboard in water at least 6 FATHOMS (36 feet) deep, so that it cannot be recovered.

the "8 miles out, 6 feet down" is so strange. Does it mean the mob takes the body 8 miles out to sea and THEN buries it 6 feet under the sea bed. (Note the current territorial claim limit at sea for the US is 12 miles, it was less in the past. not sure when it was -if ever-8 miles)

odilegb32.bsky.social2

Of course, everything is always exclusively about him. He seems to believe that everybody constantly thinks about him at all times. 🤦‍♀️

Charlie Mas2

86 is not a mob term. It is a restaurant and bar term. For menu items, it means the kitchen is out of the ingredients needed to prepare the dish, so it is temporarily unavailable. For people, as in this case, it means to remove them from premises. To expel them, not kill them.

Ned Trifle X2

Trump so much wants to be a mobster he's making up mobster terms.
