Valve says Steam Deck 2 still in development, cites RAM shortages

Valve confirmed a Steam Deck 2 remains in active development, saying "We're hard at work on it." The company blamed global RAM and storage shortages for ongoing Steam Deck stock problems, adding "There’s only so much we can do" about supply constraints. Valve said current component scarcity prevents the kind of next-generation performance it wants for a Deck 2, so it prefers to wait for parts rather than ship a compromised follow-up. That matters because shortages will prolong limited availability of Steam Deck units and could delay a meaningful hardware leap that handheld gamers and developers have been waiting for.
