Nathan Chasing Horse, the actor WHO appeared in Dances With Wolves, was sentenced Monday to life in prison with a minimum of 37 years before parole after conviction on multiple sexual-assault counts. A jury convicted him on 13 charges, mostly involving the sexual assault of three women and of Indigenous girls and women. Accusers told Judge Jessica Peterson they continue to suffer trauma and that Chasing Horse exploited his position as a spiritual leader. Additional sexual-assault charges against Chasing Horse remain pending in Canada, so his total legal exposure could increase and the case highlights accountability for a high-profile figure WHO abused community trust.
