Trump administration fires entire National Science Board
The Trump administration fired all 24 members of the National Science Board by email, removing the U.S. government's top advisory board for the National Science Foundation without explanation. Congress created the National Science Board in 1950 to set NSF policy and advise the president and Congress on national science priorities. The action follows administration proposals to drastically cut the National Science Foundation's budget. Removing the board could weaken independent oversight and slow decisions on research funding and national science strategy as lawmakers consider NSF's future.
The entire board behind the National Science Foundation was fired on Friday. They were planning to release a report on how the U.S. is ceding ground to China on scientific endeavors. The Trump admin likes to say we’re competing with China but in reality this is just an excuse to not regulate AI.

This timing is CLEARLY to avoid that report being released. Additionally, the NSB is under the authority of Congress. It is ILLEGAL for Trump to do this.
