Look, Star Wars keeps focusing on what happened with the *top* half after Episode I, but it's obvious that the true ultimate villain of Star Wars is Darth Maul's legs. Otherwise, why haven't *they* come back? They've been lurking in the shadows, behind the scenes, controlling everything...

I’ve always hated the power scaling arguments in fandom. That being said, “just enjoy the story” would be easier if stories involving Ahsoka, Maul, and the Inquisitors were in any way compelling.

Maul has been depicted as an abuse victim of Sidious since TCW but Shadow Lord ep8 revisits it in such pain that it also feels a little like there’s CSA subtext in there. Maul’s a selfish monster but there’s something so admirable about “I won’t let him do this to anyone else”
