Final Fantasy X opened an official 25th anniversary website, unveiling a new Tetsuya Nomura illustration, commemorative merchandise, and two vinyl soundtrack albums. Square Enix also announced a visual artbook titled Eternal Spira, plus plush reissues and additional collectibles timed around the July 19 anniversary. Illustrators and animators are adapting Nomura's new visual into prints and short animatics, cosplayers are planning Yuna and Tidus recreations, and collectors are hunting Lulu and Auron plushes. Standouts from the first wave are Nomura's new art, the Eternal Spira artbook, and the vinyl soundtrack and plush releases.

Wow, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within mention in 2026. I saw that movie in theaters when it was BRAND new and people at the time, including my brother-in-law, thought it looked so real. It has a tangential connection to the games, but it was noteworthy at the time. I still enjoy it 🙂

I also recall that Dr. Aki Ross had "modeling gigs" for magazines and other promotional material. I like the film.

That's movie is one of my all time favorite movies I saw as a kid. It absolutely blew my mind. I might need to go buy the blue ray today....

The fake Michael Bertrand3

I saw it in the theater and was completely confused for most of the movie. I almost asked for my money back. WTF even happens??

See, I get that it's not directly a movie made from a popular entry like 7 or 11, but it's very much so a Final Fantasy in spirit (ha) I think it's mostly because people are still very much in denial about FF being about protecting and respecting nature even in the presence of technology

It's actually more Final Fantasy that pretty much all the mainline games released after 12, to be honest.

So did I, and it was indeed visually stunning. 🤓

I forgot that movie existed, and that I have watched it at some point (not in cinema, probably on TV). It clearly didn't leave a lasting impression on me. I'm glad other people are finding something worthwhile in it.

Saw this in theaters as a very confused teen who had to get dropped off by their parents. Basically all I remember is being bitterly disappointed by the lack of swords. I should check it out

The ambition of this movie may have outweighed its entertainment value, but it was a fun ride. Solid mocap and voice acting helped! Yeah it looks dated now, but it broke serious ground at the time.
