Ann Telnaes calls White House Correspondents' Dinner 'unethical and tone deaf'
Cartoonist Ann Telnaes published an essay titled "The WH Correspondents' Dinner" calling this year's White House Correspondents' Dinner "unethical and tone deaf." In the essay Telnaes argues that journalists becoming chummy with politicians enables an autocrat to continue attacking the free press and undermines journalistic independence. The dinner included a skit called "The Final Days" and invited high-profile guests whose presence Telnaes says prioritized access over accountability. Her critique matters because it questions whether press socializing with power corrodes accountability and public trust in news institutions.
Seriously though, it would be funny if he did this at the correspondents dinner
Even funnier if all the audience did it.
I don’t think he’ll even sit at the dais. I’ve read that he plans to show up, throw some insults and then walk out.
Nah, he's gonna be too gassed up on pretending he's good at belittling reporters. It'll be funny as shit if the WHCD was completely empty, devoid of attendees
And then people sharpie penises on his face!
