UEFA names Allianz Arena 2028 and Camp Nou 2029 Champions League hosts

UEFA confirmed Munich’s Allianz Arena will host the 2028 men’s Champions League final and Barcelona’s Camp Nou will host the 2029 final. Camp Nou will stage the men’s final for the first time since 1999 and for a third occasion overall; the stadium’s long renovation is ongoing and is expected to raise capacity to about 105,000 from 99,354, after which Barcelona hopes to have the ground ready for major finals. Barcelona played home matches at Montjuic for two seasons during the works and returned to a reduced-capacity Camp Nou in November 2025. The Allianz Arena will also host its third men’s final, having staged Chelsea’s 2012 win over Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain’s 5-0 victory over Inter in 2025. UEFA also named Lyon’s Groupama Stadium as the 2028 women’s Champions League final venue and the Principality Stadium in Cardiff for the 2029 women’s final. The executive committee meeting in Thessaloniki additionally picked the National Arena in Bucharest for the 2028 Europa League final, the National Stadium Serbia in Belgrade for 2029, Juventus’ Allianz Stadium for the 2028 Conference League final and Puskas Arena for 2029, with the Johan Cruyff ArenA and Astana Arena chosen for the 2027 and 2028 UEFA Super Cups respectively. UEFA’s decision on Camp Nou follows Barcelona’s exit from the Super League project, the club’s readmission to the European Clubs Association and UEFA’s permission for Barca to play Champions League matches at Camp Nou again last season.
