One of the reasons that Infantino is so keen on this deal is that there are term limits on the FIFA presidency (max. 3 terms, 4 years each). His 12 years are up in 2028 & he wants the rules changed to let him stay. If his Kushner deal went ahead, he'd be CEO & protected. It's all about the grift.

Infantino's FIFA presidency has been the worst thing to happen to football in my lifetime. Single-handedly destroyed a lot of my love for the sport and the World Cup in particular, and it's about time someone took a stand against his bullshit. Into the trash where you belong you sleazy fucker.

He might weasel his way out, and even if he doesn't I think the organisation is rotten and won't immediately go back to normal once he's gone (he replaced Sepp Blatter after all, who was already rancid). But he needs to go before anything can improve, and I will delight in watching him eat shit.

The World Cup in the US was a masterclass in how not to host a global sporting event. Heavy-handed security, immigration scares, visa issues, and ticket price gouging. Turned what should have been a festival of football into a corporate cash grab. The fans deserved far better.
