Universal and Imagine Entertainment are developing a live-action follow-up to the 2000 film How the Grinch Stole Christmas, with Brian Grazer producing. Jim Carrey is in talks to reprise his role as the Grinch and Ron Howard is attached to return as director. The sequel arrives more than 25 years after the Jim Carrey-led adaptation and could expand the Dr. Seuss adaptation into a franchise.

Hmmmmm... On one hand, I actually really enjoyed the live-action Grinch, so getting both Jim to star AND Ron to direct is a good sign. On the other hand, I shudder to think what a sequel would be like in a Hollywood era that's slowly being consumed by AI.
