Toyota wins 24 Hours of Le Mans, Nyck de Vries part of the winning line‑up

Congratulations Nyck de Vries, a great guy & a fine driver with whom I worked closely when he was a McLaren Young Driver Development Programme member & I was the team’s #F1 comms chief, now victorious for Toyota in this weekend’s #LeMans24Hours. Well deserved & wonderful to see! 👏

I know this is Le Mans, the car keeping going for the 24 hours is the challenge and that's why it's the race that it is but FUCK OFF that's so UNFAIR I hate it they'd done so well, Doriane did so well & gave it everything to the point of severe dehydration aaaaaaaargh fuck

Toyota claimed its sixth 24 Hours of Le Mans victory in a hard-fought and fast-paced contest that came down a battle between three Hypercar manufacturers and the top four cars that were separated by just 32 seconds in the end.

Whew. Le Mans! Still sad about Doriane but it was definitely overall a good race. Toyota won with speed and strategy and needed both, this was definitely no walkover in Hypercar. LMP2 was super tense until it wasn't, and Corvette pulled out GT3 partially on the back of another Ben Keating marathon.

Really pleased to see Toyota take that win. Must've been one of the fastest-paced Le Mans in a while, given so few accidents, and only ten seconds gap to BMW in the end shows it was flat out for everyone. Should hopefully shut up the people who reckoned their previous wins were "easy".

Toyota back on top, and they finally have a Le Mans nobody can asterisk away and Lexus has a first ever Le Mans podium too!

So thus brings to an end the Peugeot 9X8 chapter at Le Mans, on an ignominious note sadly. But in an age where racecar design is increasingly homogenised, hats should be tipped to those who brought to life & stuck with such a distinctive concept for as long as they could. Au revoir, diva.
