On June 10 the Chicago White Sox edged the Atlanta Braves 2-1 to move into first place in the American League Central. Chris Sale started for Chicago and received just two runs of support while the bullpen preserved the one-run lead. Rookie Braden Montgomery made his major league debut in the game, contributing both on the field and in the broadcast booth. The win gives a surprising White Sox club momentum in June and tightens a division race that looked settled earlier this season.
