Kimi Antonelli takes pole at Monaco Grand Prix, edges Max Verstappen
Andrea Kimi Antonelli set the fastest qualifying lap at the Monaco Grand Prix, taking pole for Mercedes by 0.043 seconds over Max Verstappen. Lewis Hamilton qualified third and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc was fourth, completing the top four on the Monaco grid. Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur was rushed to hospital ahead of the weekend and missed qualifying. Antonelli's pole gives Mercedes a crucial front-row advantage on Monaco's tight street circuit, where grid position often decides the race outcome.
Gripping climax to today’s #MonacoGP quali session just now, Kimi Antonelli pulling a stunning pole lap out of the bag in the closing stages. Great to see! #F1 👏
That kid is on fire, looks unstoppable at the moment.
Max will be first into St Devote, at some point later Kimi will make banzai move on Max, both will end up in the barriers and out of the race…..Lewis will pick up the pieces……just saying 😀
I’m starting to think that young Kimi lad might just be a little bit special, you know…
