Cimo dies
Alex Cimo, known online as Cimoooooooo, has died; he created the Progression series and a Yu-Gi-Oh history series that taught players deckbuilding and modern competitive concepts. His videos, including "How Do I Just Automatically Lose This Game?", helped many viewers reconnect with Yu-Gi-Oh during the COVID years and catch up to current card rulings. His upbeat presentation and step-by-step deck walkthroughs inspired other creators and helped revive interest in the trading-card game, leaving a notable gap in TCG educational content.
Just learned from a reddit post a friend sent that Alex Cimo passed away. Absolutely fucking gutted man. Progression series and History of YuGiOh got me through so much of covid when I was most isolated and just jamming edopro lobbies constantly if not working or drunk.

Though I only spoke with Cimo a few times, he had a profound impact on my life. He was a great guy, and I wouldn't be where I am today with him. It's a tragedy to see him pass so young. Rest in Peace to a true king.

Still wrapping my head around the news about Cimo. Without his videos I never would've gotten back into yugioh and made a ton of new friends in the hobby. I'm sure thousands of people can say the same. May he rest in peace.

Between the Progression Series and History of YGO drawing many people back into the game and his chats with Rarran and CGB bridging the divide between games, Cimo was a foundational member of the community. May he enjoy a nice long chat with Kazuki Takahashi.

Burnish3Watching prog and the history of series helped me get back into yugioh, I even did a masochist run after he started his. If it wasn’t for him I don’t think I would’ve ever played another game of yugioh. Thank you Cimo for everything you’ve done, I’m really going to miss you.
