Claude Lemieux's family donates his brain to Boston University's CTE center
Claude Lemieux died by suicide at age 60 this week, and his family announced they will donate his brain to Boston University's CTE Center for research. The family's statement said "No conclusions should be drawn at this time regarding any diagnosis" and that his brain may be identified in any published findings. Lemieux was a Stanley Cup champion and longtime NHL forward best known for his physical play with the New Jersey Devils. The donation could help Boston University researchers study possible links between repetitive head trauma in hockey and changes in mood, behavior, and suicide risk.

How honorable of the family. Help others through their pain
I would not be at all surprised if it was seriously damaged by CTE
I was hoping they would consent to this, for what it might contribute to the greater good.
We do not talk enough about what brain trauma does to someone - especially repeated brain trauma.
I had wondered if perhaps he was suffering from CTE and maybe now they can find out if he was. I'm sure the family made this decision with that in mind.
Will they be able to say what they really will find ? Or the report will be of no interest We never know with Bettman And add to this RFK and TrumPedo Will we be able to know the truth? I like Boston but not sure conclusions will be like if it was done in Canada
CTE? That was my first question when I heard about his passing.
