The Boys series finale kills two major characters
I don't have the names of the two characters killed in The Boys series finale; please tell me WHO died or paste the article text so I can confirm. Once you provide the character names or the article excerpt, I will write a 3-5 sentence spoiler summary that names the victims, explains how they die, and explains why those deaths change the show's ending. If you want a quick non-specific summary without names right now, I can do that, but it will be less precise and omit the key character details.
The Boys finale!! I liked it! I felt like each beat was correct n I “wooed” a few times watching. I do truly wish it was longer to allow for things to feel a lil more earned n cover a few loose ends about starlighters- but it was ultimately what I wanted from the end ❤️ sad it’s over-loved the ride💕
Would also be lying if I didn’t want a better send off for the Gen V characters who are so great 😭 I hope we get to see them in more projects!
i liked it too! i thought it wrapped up everyone's story really well, especially with how Butcher and Homelander's final scenes were handled. I like how they kept it somewhat close to the comics too I really dont understand why everyone's been so mean about this series finale in particular
The memes are truly 👌(also, it’s not over yet don’t forget that prequel series)
Homelander jumping several times trying desperately to fly was straight up hilarious. A-Train's description was such a great foreshadowing of that moment & I'm glad his fate was taken beat by beat from the comics. "This is for my Becca."
Butcher had some meaty punches in this one 👊. Whoever was in charge of the sound design for the white house scene did a great job. It's hard to find audio that carries the right weight of impact for me but they nailed it.
The quality level of TV nowadays is great, but I realllly miss longer seasons with the capability to fully realize and flesh out plotlines.
Homelander and Butcher's deaths were pretty fitting endings for their characters. My main issues are that Hughie never talked to Ryan (missed opportunity to really nail the show's themes, I think) and HL didn't do as much carnage as I'd hoped to raise the stakes. Solid, not spectacular.
'The Boys' S5 finale is at 6.7 on IMDb The final two episodes are the lowest-rated in the show's history
(Spoiler warning) Incels upset homelander got his
The finale was fine. Certainly superior than most of the episodes in the final season and miles better than Supernatural or Game of Thrones
I liked the finale. Sure it wasn't as big as expected, but it was a satisfying ending nonetheless.
Seeing their guy grovelling and snivelling like a coward really triggered some of the anti-woke brigade.
Thought it summed up the show, and our current situation, very well.
It's called review bombing. That's why some sites like Steam take some active measures against ist.
Well what the fuck ever, it was fine
I liked the final episode. Homelander’s ending was pretty near perfect. It was a far better ending than I was expecting.
It was fine. There were parts I really liked and parts I really didn’t like. I think if the season as a whole was better, people wouldn’t be as harsh on the finale.
The last two episodes are great, and the ending was pretty much what we knew it was going to be from episode 1. I think people assume finales have to be three hours long and have fifteen twists or something, instead of following what was actually set up.
What? It was a very good finale
Homelander getting his was chef’s kiss . But it did feel like the second half of the episode was done haphazardly to close off any loose ends , meanwhile soldier boy is getting freezer burn, that made me wtf a little
The ending itself was fine. The last season as a whole felt really weak to me One example of the poor writing was how they side-lined the Gen V cast. Gen V ended making it seem like those characters would play a big role in S5 and instead they got an inconsequential B-Plot and nothing else
Remember how everyone lost their shit about how The Sopranos ended? And now it's lauded as the actual genius it was? This isn't on the same level, but it was never supposed to be. They wrapped things up, like they said they would. Much worse endings have happened. It was fine, chill out.
It’s nine o’clock on a Saturday
I thought the final episode was pretty solid for ending the story. I feel they dropped the ball for the Gen V characters and their series and could have had them more involved in the finale.
People are such bitches. I really liked it. It was less empty feeling than the comic ending but a pretty close adaptation aside from a few omissions
Recapping THE BOYS series finale with @daviddennisjr.bsky.social tomorrow What other shows would you guys like to see us recap this summer on @viewerpod.bsky.social?
You should watch Invincible one of these days.
Daredevil: Born Again! Was even better than The Boys. The finale was one of the best episodes of television I've ever seen 👀
widows bay! Margo’s got money troubles!
Invincible! I know you would have to do a from the beginning, but it is a fantastic show that needs more folks to know about it!
Widow’s Bay, Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed (basically anything on Apple TV for the most part) Rooster is pretty dope too
It’s annoying that the finale of The Boys probably won’t be judged on whether it’s good or not, instead it’ll be marked down just because a certain section of its fanbase thought Homelander was the good guy and are only now realising the show has been pointing at them the whole time.
I’ve struggled a little with the last couple of seasons (have the budgets shrunk or something?), but all the talk of drop off feels like a concerted effort from some quarters, rather than a consensus? idk
Honestly, people thinking Homelander is the good guy is the most damning indictment of our culture right now.
Paused to have a meal and watch.. That’s it? That The Boys series finale? The supposed “scorched earth”? The “blood and bone”? #theboys
No spoilers Like season 1-3 was SO GOOD and Anthony Starr…BLESS YOU for being the best pd on screen character and just so fun to watch they did not give you a proper send off this season man The second they introduced THAT plot line and dismissed THE OTHER ONE I had a feeling the ✈️ wouldn’t land
Writing so bad it legit gave me motivation to up my own writing rn dear god lmao
