China and Russia announced on May 19 that they co-produced a World War II documentary titled "The Last Blow" that will be broadcast simultaneously on CCTV Chinese International Channel and Russia Today International. The broadcasters said the film aims to "promote the correct historical view of World War II, safeguard international fairness and justice, remember history, and protect peace." The release is timed to coincide with high-level talks during Vladimir Putin's visit to Beijing and matters because it signals deeper cultural coordination as both governments seek to shape international memory and bolster their diplomatic partnership.
