The Mandalorian and Grogu premieres; early reviews praise score, question stakes

We loved a lot about The Mandalorian and Grogu. Grogu is especially charming and the action is great. We have a LOT of thoughts but it was great to see Star Wars on the big screen again. Full review coming next week!

The first reviews of The Mandalorian and Grogu have arrived, and unsurprisingly, some people loved it, others less so.

If you wished The Mandalorian was 3x as long, both in runtime and screen size, then you’ll love The Mandalorian and Grogu It’s a perfectly fine standalone adventure full of explosions, monsters, and an uncomfortably jacked Hutt. I had a good time!

Like a fresh pack of blue Nummies, The Mandalorian and Grogu is a fun sweet treat with lots humor, action, and pew pews but for the jump to the big screen, what was missing was stakes... and a story. By the end of the adventure, it doesn't really feel like we've moved the needle.

My personal The Mandalorian and Grogu MVP? Ludwig Göransson. He’s got three Oscars now so this is probably obvious, but every production with him on the roster is SO lucky to have him.

So, The Mandalorian and Grogu... It's definitely fun! Clears the bar of being better than Rise of Skywalker. (Phew.) Some John Wick, some OG trilogy mashup. Nits to pick, for sure, but seeing AT-ATs trudging through the snow on a big screen is still glorious. Also: Grogu in the Best Space Son convo.

"We loved a lot about The Mandalorian and Grogu" is not a glowing response! But tbh I don't have high hopes that this will be a great star wars film anyway, just going to go and enjoy it for what it is.

Searching early Mandalorian and Grogu social media reactions and they seem a bit soft. Generally, the critics who go to the premiere and post their reaction first tend to be the most enthusiastic reviews overall, so keep that in mind as well
