Sabres beat Canadiens 3-2, tie second-round series 2-2
The series is even. The Canadiens started poorly, but a terrible bounce was even more vital than the start. The Call Of The Wilde is written for Global Montreal. globalnews.ca/news/1184636...
Slaf was off all game. The team didnโt look sharp. But, theyโre a good road team. A win on Thursday night will be absolute madness in Montreal on Saturday night.
Good read Brian, was not pleased with Habs sense of urgency in this one! pp was lax at moments (the 4 min opportunity really sticks out), felt they held onto puck too long, too many shots blocked due to holding onto puck too long! Not one shot attempt towards net in that final 1:17!Frustrating night
Excellent read Mr Wilde. Didnโt have a good vibe the way they came out tonight. Not enough early shots on a struggling goalie. Special teams killed them and the refs missed 2 more blatant penalties. Sabres are reckless and it will cost them this series
Started poorly and didnโt really ever play great. PP let them down. PK too kind of. Evans with a bad penalty. Slaf was out of sync all night trying to do too much. Might be time for Gally again on the road.
I have to remind myself that Slaf is 22 and Demidov is 20. They both can be brilliant and then so maddening. Slaf has games where he can't seem to handle the puck - unfortunately tonight was one of those. Demi was decent but he has to learn that he doesn't always have to laser a pass to a teammate.
Iโm still confident they will win the seriesโฆ terrible bounce, and PP not scoring even though the opportunities were there โฆseries could be 3-1
The bad bounce was a backbreaker, but it's like you have to get a 2-3 goal lead to prevent the officials from managing the game against you. How, even after a discussion, do 4 officials miss muktiple high sticks? The replay is on the scoreboard... do they not WANT to get the call right?
