sportsMay 10, 20261865

Adam Yates withdrew from the Giro d'Italia on Sunday after suffering delayed concussive symptoms following a 30-rider crash on Stage 2. The UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider did not start Stage 3 in Plovdiv, leaving his team with only five riders for the upcoming stages. The pileup also left Santiago Buitrago with a concussion, Andrea Vendrame with fractures in his lower back, and Ådne Holter with a suspected concussion and an injured hand. Yates's exit removes a major general classification contender and forces a tactical reshuffle for UAE Team Emirates-XRG at the start of the three-week Grand Tour.
