Framber Valdez ejected after hit batsman, benches clear

When Framber Valdez hit Trevor Story with that pitch in the fourth inning, it was the first four-seam fastball he threw all season.

Framber Valdez gave up 10 runs to the Red Sox and then proceeded to plunk Trevor Story, clearing the benches. He was ejected.

Framber Valdez (thru translator): "It was not intentional. It was not on purpose. It might look like that, but it wasn't. I was trying to throw strikes after the two consecutive home runs. I was trying to go back in the zone and that pitch came out of my hand. It wasn't on purpose at all."

Just as well I watched the Pistons tonight. Tigers lost 10-3 to Boston, and Detroit pitcher Framber Valdez was ejected after drilling Trevor Story in the shoulder (which was preceded by giving up back-to-back HRs). Benches cleared. Bullpens ran in. No punches thrown. 🥱

Red Sox got to Framber Valdez early. After diving up 2 bombs in the in the 3rd he purposely hit Trevor Story to get ejected from the game. Bello pitched huge coming out of the bullpen and Boston wins the series. Tomorrow with a win will be a winning streak.
