sportsMay 4, 202620114

Aaron Judge crushed a two-run home run off Shane Baz in the bottom of the first, a 416-foot blast at 110.6 mph that gave the New York Yankees a 2-0 lead. The blast was Judge's 14th of the season, the MLB lead through the first 35 games, and it came on an 85.8 mph knuckle curve from Baz. The homer was Judge's 382nd career long ball, tying Frank Howard, Ryan Howard and Jim Rice for 71st on the all-time list and matching Frank Howard for the most career homers by a 6-foot-7 player. The long ball came the same day the Yankees honored longtime radio voice John Sterling after his death, and Judge's power surge keeps him in early MVP conversation.
