Cherie DeVaux discusses life after Kentucky Derby win

Cherie DeVaux, trainer of Golden Tempo, became the first woman to win the Kentucky Derby on May 2, 2026, as Golden Tempo rallied to take the trophy. DeVaux, WHO grew up in southwest Florida and attended Florida Gulf Coast University for two years, started her own stable eight years ago and won the Derby in her first entry. She is only the second female trainer to win a Triple Crown race, joining Jena Antonucci WHO won the 2023 Belmont Stakes with Arcangelo, a milestone for women in elite horse racing.
