Trainer Cherie DeVaux, a 44-year-old former pre-med student turned horse trainer, became the first woman to train a Kentucky Derby winner. DeVaux saddled her first Kentucky Derby starter, turning a one-time opportunity into a historic breakthrough for female trainers in American thoroughbred racing.

Cherie seems like a very decent woman. When I watched her interview with Donna Brothers, Cherie turned all the attention back on to Donna and praised all of her contributions to horse racing. It is time for women to lead this country.
