Jayson Tatum ruled out for Celtics‑76ers Game 7 with knee stiffness

The Boston Celtics announced Jayson Tatum will not play tonight's Game 7 at TD Garden against the Philadelphia 76ers because of left knee stiffness. Coach Joe Mazzulla said the problem is in the back of Tatum's knee, called it knee discomfort, and listed him day-to-day before ruling him out. Tatum said the stiffness is in his other leg, not the one he injured last year, and he had been listed as questionable earlier in the day. With the series tied 3-3, the Celtics must lean on Jaylen Brown and their supporting cast to win a decisive Game 7 without their star, a development that could decide the Eastern Conference semifinal outcome.
