Monte Coleman, three-time Super Bowl champion, dies at 68

Monte Coleman, the longtime Washington linebacker and three-time Super Bowl champion, died at 68, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and the Washington Commanders announced Sunday. He helped Washington win Super Bowls XVII, XXII and XXVI during a long NFL career with the franchise. After retiring as a player, Coleman coached at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he mentored young players and led the program. No cause of death was disclosed; his toughness and leadership made him a defining figure in Washington's championship era and in HBCU coaching circles.
