Giants take Arvell Reese at No. 5

sportsApr 23, 202621600

The New York Giants selected Ohio State edge rusher Arvell Reese with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Reese grew up in Cleveland, starred at Glenville High School under coach Ted Ginn Sr., and projects as a versatile LB/edge WHO can slide inside to play ILB in subpackages. Listed around 240-245 pounds, Reese pairs violent hand technique with athleticism, giving the Giants an immediate pass-rush option and the ability to use him off the edge or as an off-ball linebacker. Reese joins Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Abdul Carter up front, creating a faster, more interchangeable pass-rush group that could change how New York deploys its defense.
