politicsApr 21, 202611130

UK voters must have new postal vote applications, postal proxy applications, or changes to existing postal or proxy votes received by their local electoral registration office by 5pm on Tuesday 21 April to vote by post in the local elections on 7 May. Applications can be made at gov.UK/apply-postal-vote or through local electoral registration offices, and approved postal ballots will be posted to voters ahead of polling day and must be returned by post or delivered in person before polls close on 7 May. Any application received after the 5pm deadline cannot be processed for the 7 May elections, so late applicants will not receive a postal ballot.
